Cedar Privacy Fence Install with Gates in Bend OR

A lot of Bend homeowners put up with open, unenclosed yards longer than they should - usually because they're not sure what the right fence setup actually looks like for their property. This job is a good example of figuring that out and getting it right.

Here's what we were working with: a property that needed privacy and defined access points on multiple sides of the home. We went with cedar for the fence material. It holds up well in Central Oregon's climate, and the natural grain looks solid fresh off the build. Posts are capped and the pickets are tight and even across the full run.

The gates were a big part of this one. Each gate is built with a diagonal cross-brace on the back frame - that's not just for looks. It's the detail that keeps a gate from racking and sagging over time. Black hardware on the hinges and latch ties it together cleanly. Everything swings, latches, and sits square.

We ran fence sections along the side yards connecting to the house on both ends. That kind of layout closes off the yard completely and makes the property feel intentional. No gaps, no weird open corridors between structures.

Cedar fencing done right doesn't need to be complicated. It needs straight posts, proper framing, and hardware that actually holds. That's what we focus on every time.
