Here's what we're working with on this one - a second-story deck that needed more room. We're adding 200 sq. ft. to the existing deck, putting in all-new handrails, and installing premium Deckorators decking throughout. That combination makes a serious difference in how the space looks and holds up over time.

A lot of decks get built and never touched again until something breaks. That's not the approach we take. When a homeowner is already investing in an expansion, it makes sense to upgrade the materials and hardware at the same time. Deckorators decking is engineered for durability - it handles weather, foot traffic, and UV exposure better than standard pressure-treated wood.

The framing work here is the foundation of everything. Getting the structure right on a second-story build matters more than most people realize. Weight distribution, proper post connections, beam sizing - all of that has to be dialed in before a single deck board goes down. We don't cut corners on the bones of the build.

New handrails also do more than people expect. They obviously add safety, but they completely change the look of a deck too. A clean railing line ties the whole structure together and makes the space feel intentional rather than pieced together over the years.

Two hundred extra square feet gives you real options - room for a dining set, lounge chairs, a grill setup, or all of the above. That kind of usable outdoor space adds genuine value to a home, and when it's built right, it lasts for decades.
